This manuscript briefly describes the history of the Núcleo de Estudos em Poluição e Ecotoxicologia Aquática (NEPEA),
which is currently based at the São Paulo State University (UNESP) and the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).
It also lists some of the main research projects developed by the group since its inauguration, as well as its members and
collaborators until the present.
